Ivan Mose - Home Inspection Services, Montreal, Quebec

Ivan Mose is a Home Inspector in Montreal, Quebec, who helps home buyers make informed decisions when buying their new homes.

In 2001, Ivan completed a Home Inspection Course that offered hands-on training with experienced home inspectors. He is a member in good standing with the AIBQ (Quebec Association Of Building Inspectors).

Ivan came to home inspection after making a decision to change careers. Long before becoming a Home Inspector, he studied engineering in London, England. Ivan spent over 25 years working in electrical engineering and project management for companies that included Bombardier, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, and the Department of National Defence.

Although he enjoyed his career as an engineer, home inspection gave Ivan the chance to try something truly different that was related to his personal interests. Years earlier, he had made a hobby of taking on small home renovation projects such as remodelling washrooms. Eventually, he moved on to more challenging projects such as building a cottage and constructing an extension on his home. Home inspection was a natural extension of Ivan's interests and skill set.

Ivan's goal is to offer quality, reliable home inspection services to clients in Montreal and the surrounding area. Whether you're a new or seasoned home buyer, Ivan can help by providing a home inspection you can trust.

Residential Home Inspection Course at Vanier College (Montreal)

For the past four years, Vanier College in Montreal has offered an intensive Residential Building Inspection Program that educates students about all applicable components of residential buildings.

The course reviews footings and foundations, framing, roofing, electrical and plumbing, heating and cooling systems, and interior in great detail. The course also teaches students to anticipate structural and construction problems by using the home’s age as a benchmark. The ultimate goal of the course is a thorough understanding of how each component in a home works together, essentially making the house a system in itself.

With nearly four thousand inspections under his belt and experience as a civil engineering technologist, the instructor passes on his expertise to the students in a logical, sequential manner. Students receive hands on training by having equipment brought into class, and attend building inspections to study and discuss homes and their associated problems. The course also emphasizes the importance of communications skills, essential in the home inspection industry.
